Simon Alexander Martin is a university student, studying an English Degree at Loughborough University. His hobbies include the modern pentathlon (shooting, swimming, fencing, riding and running), working on his favourite railway, the Great Central Railway, modelling the East Coast Main line and writing his many unpublished novels and short stories.

The creator and director of both the series and the original team that filmed it, and now the guardian of the series, Simon has many plans for The British Railway Series, not least publishing the stories, including the not filmed scripts for the Youtube series. Of course, he fully intends to finish the series on YouTube, it may just take a little more time now that he is, literally, a one man locomotive crew!
